We could go on and on, but that quote sums it all up.
What the Lord said to Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich is one of the most important messages for our time.
So naturally, what could the evil one do to downgrade such an important message?
Why surround it with controversy and pretend that some romantic poet made all this stuff up.
And then for the coup, use the very skeptics within the Rock itself to downgrade the Lord's message to one of His Saints.
As we have told fellow Catholics time and time again that what you think the Lord meant about the Rock and the gates of hell is not what the Lord actually meant.
We can hear the groaning and disbelief now.
Catholics will be up in arms over this statement, but it is not us who has cleared up the matter of the Rock and the gates of hell.
It is Jesus Himself to one of His blessed visionaries.
Like we said, how easy it is to pick and choose the words we wish to believe and ignore those that are hard to accept.
But for those Catholics who want to dispute Emmerich's messages from the Church's High Priest, think again.
You believe God could not say something that has a different meaning than what you have been taught to believe for years.
Well, how about this.
If we were a protest-ant and wanted to downgrade the role of our great Queen and Mother, the Blessed Virgin, all we have to do is go right to the Scriptures and Jesus Himself when He tells the crowd:
"Who is My Mother ... ?'
Matthew 12:48
Really, Lord? We didn't know You were having trouble knowing Who She was.
Ridiculous?
Of course so.
So what is Jesus really trying to say.
Those who do the Will of His Father, 'he is my brother and sister and mother.'
And the correct answer is, His Mother always did the Will of Christ's Father in Heaven.
Yet, we can immediately understand that God was giving us an extremely symbolic message.
The same is true for the Rock of Peter quote along with the gates of hell.
The Church itself, as an institution, as a hierarchy, as a laity, could fall by the wayside.
But if just one Catholic stood against the tide of those who are dismantling the Church, brick by brick as Emmerich saw, by those who make up the institution itself, the hierarchy and the laity, be they priests or even a pope, the Rock will stand because of that one faithful believer.
The believer who does not compromise with Truth.
Who is that person?
We don't know; it certainly isn't us, poor sinners that we are.
But wake up, Catholics.
It does not need to be a pope.
It does not need to be a building.
It does not need to even be a city-state.
It needs to be one who will do the Will of His Heavenly Father.
And as we have seen from history, not every pope has done the Will of the Heavenly Father, nor the Church itself when the hierarchy has been engaged in so many coverups and lies.
But don't take our word for it.
Take the Word's Word for it.
Or perhaps you would prefer to go on a penance tour with still-'cardinal' O'Brien?
Words are words when they come from men, be they pope or bloggers.
But God's Word is the Truth and only He knows their fullness.
It is now almost two centuries since Emmerich was given the quoted message above and almost two millennia since Jesus uttered His famous phrase.
Was it just an offhanded comment to Blessed Anne on the part of our Lord, or was Jesus warning us about the future in which we now live?
The Truth and its fullness is now ours, if we want the real Truth.
We all know who did this: His enemies placed the Crown of Thorns upon His Head ...
... but let us never forget that He also told us His so-called 'friends' placed the Crown of Thorns around His Sacred Heart.
