Looking for a scientific explanation instead of a spiritual one.
That is the mistake the world makes when confronted with the Shroud.
That is also why one of our favorite remarks regarding the ultimate Message of the Shroud comes from Israeli botantist Dr. Avinoam Danin of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
When asked what do his findings mean, Danin simply stated, "You, as a reader, have to take one plus one and make two."
In other words, Danin can tell you scientifically that his research proves the Shroud originated in Jerusalem and the Body wrapped within was covered in flowers.
But not just any flowers.
Flowers that only grow in one area of the world: Israel.
Flowers that only bud during March and April, the time when Passover is celebrated.
Some flowers that have a specific short life span: blooming between the hours of 3 to 4 p.m., the very time when Christ would have been placed in His burial cloth.
And pollen from a spike-filled thorn bush that just happens to be found only in the Head area.
In presenting his analysis, which was confirmed by Dr. Uri Baruch of the Israel Antiquities Authority, Danin stated, "This combination of flowers can be found in only one region of the world. The evidence clearly points to a floral grouping from the area surrounding Jerusalem."
Danin has not stopped there.
Using the 3D holographic images that Dr. Petrus Soons developed, the Israeli scientist said he "counted more than 300 flowers that resemble in size and morphology those of Matricaria sp. or Anthemis sp. Although the correct botanical term of the 'flower' of a plant of the sunflower family is 'a flowering head' or 'capitula,' let us use 'flower' to simplify. In order to place the ca. 300 flowers as they are seen in the photo, those who prepared the body of the Man of the Shroud for entombment had to remove the peduncles and stems and place them individually in order. It was not a casual distribution in this part of the Shroud."
Not a "casual distribution."
Placed "individually in order."
How often, when you read stories about the Shroud, is this information presented?
Why is it withheld in MSM pieces?
So let us take one and one and make two.
Real people buried a real Man who inexplicably was able to cast His entire Image upon a simple linen cloth. This is commonly known as the Resurrection.
It was not accomplished by a so-called "myth."
It was accomplished by a Man completely in control of His Destiny.
The true Son of God who recently warned a disbelieving world:
As truly as His burial cloth is real, these words, then, are trustworthy and true ...
